Antibiotics Treatment for Acne Vulgaris Linked to Sore Throat is the one of acne treatment. When acne gets worse, some people resort to antibiotics to clear it, but a new study linking treatment for other problems - sore throat.
Approximately 40 to 50 million Americans have acne at some point in their lives. In these cases, oral medication is the only one that works.
Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania discovered that among a group of students, those taking oral antibiotics have a sore throat more often.
"The patients are three times more likely to have pharingtis episodes, which means that the complained of sore throat, and antibiotics," said Dr. Michele Green.
Researchers do not know exactly why antibiotics cause a sore throat.
"Patients are instructed to take antibiotics on an empty stomach, but really, if they are senstive to reflux, they should take antibiotics with food," advises Green. Doctors also recommend drinking plenty of water with medication.
Costomiris Diane, 36, has been battling acne for years. Creams and ointments that she uses is not always enough.
"When there is a very bad outbreak, oral antibiotics tend to go to the root of the problem and take care of quickly," he said.
Diane uses a combination of topical and oral antibiotics, and he did the best to care for your skin, because he did not want to be in long term antibiotics.
The researchers found only the throat side effects among those who took oral antibiotics. Those who use an antibiotic cream did not report the same effect.
